Knit and Crochet Blog Week, Day 6

Well, once again I’m a bit late. The Hubs and I were looking at houses yesterday, then we ran some errands and went out to eat, and then I felt really nauseous for several hours (which was awesome.) So I fell asleep early and didn’t do Day 6. Whoops.

4KCBWDAY6 – A Tool To Covet Write about your favourite knitting or crochet (or spinning, etc) tool. It can either be a tool directly involved in your craft (knitting needles or crochet hook) or something that makes your craft more pleasurable – be it a special lamp, or stitch markers.

So far, I’ve really enjoyed using my Knit Counter Lite app on my Miette cardigan.

knit counter01It’s available on iTunes, and it’s FREE. It only tracks one project at a time (it’s the lite version), but I’m usually only knitting one thing at a time so that’s fine. The regular version (which tracks multiple projects) is $3.99. I may buy it at some point, but I’m good with this for now.

It’s a pretty simple thing, but I really like it. I don’t have to worry about the numbers getting all janked up on me in my knitting bag, which has happened before with a regular stitch counter. I also prefer to have fewer doo-dads hanging off my projects, so this works pretty well! Plus, it makes me feel like my knitting is all high-tech and fancy- FUTURE SPACE KNITTING.

What are your favorite tools for yarn-work?

  1. Yup I have ‘knit’ as a counting app. Mostly because it has a cat in a knitted scarf on the screen. It’s also free and has multiple project capabilities.
    Counting is hard.
